Description
If valve clearance has not been adjusted for a long time (avoid this at all times), the adjusting screws and lock nuts may be very tight.
Sometimes cutting off and/or damaging the thread is the only solution. In such a case, you must install new adjusting screws and/or lock nuts.
It may also occur that the adjusting screws are worn slanted or that they have been battered by the age of the engine.
In such a case, the valve clearance can no longer be adjusted correctly, and replacement is the only solution.
