Revision kit for the gearbox nose

The shift rod comes out through the nose of the gearbox. To allow the whole mechanism to move without play, there is a bearing bush in the nose section. In older models, this is followed by a second identical bearing bush.

As the vehicles age, it was found that this was a weak point for oil leakage, and the last bearing bush was replaced with a model featuring an oil seal. If only the oil seal needs to be replaced, you can purchase just the oil seal separately (see ‘replacement parts’ tab).

Note that when installing the new bearing bushes, there is a chance that you may still need to hone them to the correct inner diameter. For gearboxes with two successive identical bushes, this is 15.032 mm, and no dimension is given for the bush with the seal; however, the shift rod must be able to move without play.

The bearing bushes are supplied in a set, with two bearing bushes and, if applicable, a mounted seal.
