Description

To limit the suspension travel, bumper stops can be found on the rear axle; on the swing axle models, these are mounted on a separate bracket. The rubber is pressed onto a thickening located in the middle of the bracket. Moisture and dirt can accumulate there, creating a breeding ground for rust, which damages the thickening and causes it to spontaneously break off when the rubber is removed. The only solution at that point is to install a new bracket. It is advisable to also directly install a set of new rubbers alongside the bracket, as they will be just as much in need of replacement as your rusted-through bracket.
