It is a common occurrence that this oil pressure switch is the cause of a small oil leak. If it turns out that the switch is no longer working at all, you will not be warned of low oil pressure, which can result in serious engine damage.

If the warning light does not come on with the ignition switch on, the switch is likely broken and will need to be replaced. When the engine is running, the light should go out; if it remains on, this may indicate low oil pressure – immediately turn off the engine and investigate.

Note for air-cooled engines: The thread in the crankcase is conical, so the switch does not need to be screwed in all the way.

Note for water-cooled engines: For later WBX engines and all Diesels, there are two switches present that switch at different pressures. To differentiate between them, each switch has its own color, compare this with what you are going to order. Especially when two options are provided. The switch seals on the installed sealing ring.

All switches are equipped with M10 thread with a pitch of 1.0 mm.
