Description
The mounting plate on which the brake shoes and wheel cylinders are mounted is called the brake anchor plate, a Dutch term that will not be understood in many countries.
A better term would have been brake component mounting or backing plate, which also appeals to Dutch speakers with little or no experience with tools.
Replacement is only necessary if they are too rusty.
Since the anchor plates are always exposed to the weather conditions, there will be no Volkswagen in which the anchor plates still look brand new.
If only the springs that block the adjustment mechanism of the brake shoes are broken, you do not need to purchase new anchor plates for this.
For most model years, these are available separately.
Supplied in a sturdy black coating, so ready for immediate installation.
