Description
Threaded rod bushings (case savers) were originally intended for repairing the crankcase. When the threaded rods are pulled out of the crankcase, this is usually due to a too high tightening torque in combination with a too high engine temperature. It is a repair method that Volkswagen frequently used for rebuilt engines. This was usually done preventively; thread repaired in this way is much stronger than the original thread. For those involved in tuning, they are also commonly used to reinforce the crankcase at this location because the likelihood of a threaded rod being pulled out of the crankcase is much greater with higher power than with a standard engine.
Suitable for:
All air-cooled engines with M10 studs
