Description

The fuel pump also does not last forever. Leakage to the outside is fortunately visible, as this is a fire hazard in the hot engine compartment. However, it is more common for the fuel pump to leak on the inside, causing the pump to leak internally, into the engine block via the base. If the engine oil smells like gasoline, you have an internal leak. Check this if your oil level has increased. Replace the fuel pump immediately, as gasoline does not have a lubricating effect, which can lead to significant engine damage.

Attention! Since there are many engines that no longer have the original fuel pump, it is important to check the length of the driveshaft.
Using the wrong model year fuel pump and a wrong shaft length will cause problems, resulting in either no pump output or the pump being damaged immediately after starting.
Also, make sure that the shaft can move smoothly through the fuel pump support, and if necessary, enlarge the fuel pump support slightly with a soft file.
If the shaft cannot move smoothly through the support, it may get stuck when the engine heats up, causing the fuel pump to no longer be driven.

Note: This is a B-Quality fuel pump!
