Description
It is common for this oil pressure switch to be the cause of a minor oil leak.
If it turns out that the switch is not working at all, you will not be warned of low oil pressure, which can result in serious engine damage.
If the warning light does not come on with the ignition on, the switch is likely to be faulty and will need to be replaced.
When the engine is running, the light should go off; if it stays on, it may indicate low oil pressure – immediately switch off the engine and investigate.
