Description
These metal supports are equipped with vulcanized rubber to ensure that engine vibrations are transmitted as minimally as possible to the body and chassis for optimal comfort.
If the engine tilts excessively, causing the vehicle to potentially disengage from gear, it is time to inspect the gearbox mounts more closely.
Don’t think you’re the only one with cracked rubbers; the majority of our classics have dealt with this issue, a true sign of aging. It is therefore advisable to replace all rubbers during restoration. The engine must be disassembled for this task, which can be a hassle right after your first test drive. Most garages familiar with our classic Volkswagens will also recommend replacing the rubbers if, for whatever reason, the engine needs to be removed.
