Description
These metal supports are equipped with vulcanized rubber to minimize the transmission of engine vibrations to the body and chassis for optimal comfort.
When the engine tilts excessively, causing the car to potentially shift out of gear spontaneously, it’s time to examine the gearbox mounts.
Don’t think you’re the only one with torn rubbers; most of our classics have dealt with this issue, a common problem due to aging. Therefore, it is advisable to replace all rubbers during restoration, which requires dismantling the engine—a task you may not look forward to right after your first test ride. Most repair shops knowledgeable about our classic Volkswagens will also recommend replacing the rubbers if, for any reason, the engine needs to be removed.
