Description
Brake shoe inspection plugs
A part that has been lost in many cars, but definitely should not be missing, is this inspection plug. They are located in the anchor plates and seal the holes of the inspection and adjustment openings against dirt and water.
If the holes are worn out (due to adjusting the brake shoes using the anchor plate as support), it is better to mount new anchor plates instead of securing the inspection plugs with adhesive.
Note: If you cannot rotate the teeth with a screwdriver during adjustment, causing you to use the anchor plate as support, make sure first that the adjustment mechanism works smoothly again. Do not unnecessarily push the inspection holes in the anchor plate out of shape.
