Description
In order to operate the handbrake separately from the hydraulic system, the rear brakes are equipped with a pressure rod between the brake segments and a lever to which the handbrake cable is attached. The lever operates the rear brake segment and, with the help of the pressure rod, pushes the front brake segment outwards. If the pressure rods are not bent or worn, there is no need to replace them. Carefully inspect them and replace them if necessary. Do not try to straighten them or repair them in any other way, as this may cause further damage later on.
Suitable for
Beetle from October 1957 onwards
